The new state of the art water tank at Screen Gems is paying off in spades right now. To say we don't have permenant jobs for technical people in the film industry is idiotic. Bringing major films and hence tons of money to the area keeps them from having to travel out of state like they have been forced too in years past. Wilmington, whether people like it or not, is driven heavily by tourism. The more movies and stars that come here and talk about how great this city is, the better tourism will do.
We hardly have to advertise as films like I know what you did last summer and shows like Dawson's Creek have been doing it for years.
Kudos to all involved bringing it here. May there be many more.
