Pennsylvania company gets job to fix Wrightsville Beach bridge

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation has hired a Pennsylvania company to do work on the bridge to Wrightsville Beach.

The state will pay American Bridge Company of Coraopolis, PA, $5.6 million to make improvements to the Heide Trask drawbridge. The contract includes replacing the steel grid floor, operator house and span drive motors, as well as other electrical repairs.

Work can begin as early as Dec. 1 and be completed by March 29, 2013.
