You sure told me. You obviously know the Bible far better than I do. I was wondering though, have you ever read the section where it says and I quote "“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Matthew 7:12).” I did do a little research on the idle quote and seems we were both wrong on that one. It's not in the Bible. See below:
"And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not' (I Timothy 5:13).Solomon warned, "He who is slothful in his work Is a brother to him who is a great destroyer" (Proverbs 18:9). Sloppy or careless work is no different than wanton destruction.
These all speak toward the productivity of our hands, but not our minds. There are warnings against idle talk.
"Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm" (I Timothy 1:5-7).
"O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge -- by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith" (I Timothy 6:20)."But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness" (II Timothy 2:16).
If this gets people back to God's word then you can say whatever you want about me. But for the record I am not related to John at all, so much for that theory. As for not knowing of a single time of the officers doing anything I described how do you think people got arrested? They just walked on off the street? Who's not sounding so intelligent now? If you need proof of them working holidays or simply working at all, just look at their time sheets, pretty simple. I agree he should not have fired his weapon but exactly how many citizens of Leland were hanging out in the woods behind his house? As for my having worked with him no I have not. My guess is neither have you. All I'm asking is that we wait until all the facts are laid out on the table before we cast judgement. And John's nose, it doesn't need wiping, he knows the facts and that's all that really matters.
