WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A former high school football star is in trouble with the law once again. Records show Wilimington Police booked Shawn Sidbury into the New Hanover County Jail yesterday. He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and first degree burglary. Sidbury was MVP of the 2007 4A Football Championship game for Hoggard. Less than a month later the then 16-year-old was arrested on drug charges. Sidbury later transferred to Topsail High School. In May 2009, Pender County deputies arrested Sidbury and another student-athlete for allegedly breaking into six homes. Sidbury later played for the semi-pro Wilmington Tigers. According to the Department of Corrections website, spent more than two months in prison back in 2009. Court records also show he has a court appearance scheduled for November 14 on two felony larceny charges.
