I agree. If there was a need for a railroad and it was profitable it would be built without big government; however,if the government is going to give out money one way or the other then I think our community should go after it. Why let that money go to other areas of state?
If we are looking into the future a rail transport for commuters and shipping may not be that bad of an idea. People still underestimate the contributions of Interstate I-40 and the improvements of Highway 17 and 74. Convenient access to Wilmington,Wrightsville Beach and even Myrtle Beach are going to continue to attract full time residents and influence growth in our area.
