The population in Leland has increased since the year 1989(approximately 1960 residents) to over 12,000 residents today. That's an increse of about 500% over a 22 year period. The town council voted to increase their pay to be in line with similar towns their size and took the middle of the road. From what I have gathered, I believe this is the first pay increase since the town incorporated in 1989. Now how many of you have had no pay raises since 1989? So what is the point of WWAY's article? Is the pay increase too much, not enough or just right?
