Wilmington, NC (WWAY) -- In the race for Wilmington Mayor, incumbent Bill Saffo reclaims the seat with 71% to Justin LaNasa's 29%. This is Mayor Saffo's third elected term as Mayor. “It’s humbling, it’s a humbling experience every time you go through a process like this; be elected by the people when you bring your, everything you’ve talked about on the campaign out there, you’re telling the voters what you want to do, you’ve also shown them what you can do, what you have done," Saffo said. "It’s a referendum on a person. I’m very honored to be the Mayor of this great city. Mayor Saffo also explained what he hopes to see accomplished during his upcoming term. "I think we have to continue to work and find ways to bring jobs to our community, enhance the business opportunities here, look for ways to cut some of the red tape we heard during the campaign. Try to do more with less, and to work with the fellow council members to try and move the community forward."
