Why isn't the graduate assistant coming under fire for not reporting this to the police? HE was the one that witnessed the act. The graduate assistant should have reported it to the police as well as to Paterno. Paterno followed what he felt was right, he didn't witness anything, what he heard was hearsay. His supervisors are the ones that need to be held accountable not Paterno! I would hate to think of all of the hearsay comments that were reported to the police and how inundated they would be. My god, to think that I could report hearsay to the police and not even have a leg to stand on, Wow, look out my enemies.
I would agree with his firing if he were the one to witness this crime.
I think Paterno should file a wrongful termination suit against the university. I would be first in line to donate to his legal defense fund. I also think that the football players and students should unite. Go to the game on Saturday, sit on the sidelines and don't play ball. Donors should also stop contributing.
