This has nothing to do with the goverment, welfare or part time jobs, its about football. Baxter Morris was hired to be more than a coach he was hired to continue a traditon and win games. Bob Lewis handed Morris a program that had he had turned around with a 9-4 record the previous year. Morris had talent at Whiteville, maybe not the talent he had at Albermarle or back in the 80's & early 90's in Whiteville's "glory days" but there is still talent at Whiteville. Morris claimed this season the WHS football team would be stronger, more improved than last year, that didn't happen. Morris is known a a good person who knows the game well but his system didn't work at Whiteville. I think that a lot of that blame is on Morris himself. He was known to be stubbourn or hard headed, not doing what his assistants wanted, doing it "his way". It was his way, win or lose. In the end he lost, lost his job as football coach. Lets hope that WHS can find the right coach this time, a coach that will at least put Whiteville back on top.
