The DSS board has become a huge embarrassment to the Department of Social Services, the county, it's employees, and the residents that utilize it's services. I have a difficult time understanding why the commissioners have allowed this three ring circus to continue. The meetings have become an ego driven, power struggle, and have moved from productive into beyond counterproductive. The DSS board members seem to be, for the most part, unable to place principles before personalities. Perhaps its time that we as citizen's, employee's, and customers take this matter up with a higher authority since the commissioners seem unable or unwilling to do anything to change it.
