Board of Education approves budget

RALEIGH -- The Board of Education approved the nearly $107 million 2007-2008 fiscal year budget. The county will receive $28.6 million of that, allowing for pay raises for teachers and coaches. The district will now be able to create 11 new teaching positions. Twenty more positions will be created based on the increase in student enrollment, through state funding, bringing the number of teachers in the county to 626.
