BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the inmate who died last week in the county jail.

Investigators say Steven Allan Myers, 21, of Cary, died Friday of an apparent suicide when he was alone in a cell at the Brunswick County Detention Center.

Myers was booked into the jail Dec. 20 on charges of assault on a female, assault by strangulation and communicating threats. He was under $200,500 bond.

The State Bureau of Investigation is still looking into Myers's death.
