Eugenics was an ill conceived program started well before Hitler's use of the program. It was brought about by some very enlightened people of their day and yes many bigots too. It was developed during a period in human history when there was very little understanding of human psychology. Remember the saying , that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing ? It was rooted in that. The appalling fact is that was continued for so long, during many years that we knew better but took no action as a country to correct the practice. That was the evil part of the movement.

If you are put in prison for a crime that later was found out you were not guilty of then society offers you some compensation. That is a fact. I leave you with your own determination as what you then think would be correct thing to do for the victims of eugenics.
