I so wish they would listen to you (and me) - - unfortunately, you are right, and when desperate addicts are jonesing (or violent thieves attack), their first thought will be to go ahead & kill the clerk rather than take the chance that the clerk might be packing heat. We shouldn't be encouraging vigilante justice because next time, it might be an inexperienced, young clerk who pays the price. Maybe your daughter or son.
