This award is solely based on energy efficiency and it has nothing to do with their air and water impacts. I did some serious searching on the EPA Energy Star web site for specific examples or best practices that industries use to decrease their energy consumption but I could not find any. Too bad the reporter didn't ask that question.
If only Titan would spend as much time and effort working with EPA to decrease their proposed air emissions. Instead Titan's CEO spends millions to lobby Congress under the Portland Cement Authority to gut the Clean Air Act. http://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/clientsum.php?id=D000000442&year=2011
