WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A medical examiner has confirmed the grisly discovery made by Wilmington Police of a body buried in the yard at 1115 Cowan Street was Latricia Ana Scott, 24, a woman reported missing by her family on Wednesday night.

Scott's body was recovered by Wilmington Police when they were searching for clues about her disappearance.

The medical examiner has confirmed that cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
