Man allegedly assaulted by Marines dies


JACKSONVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- A man allegedly assaulted by two Camp Lejeune Marines outside a Jacksonville bar earlier this moth has died, according to WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern.

Jimmie Senn died over the weekend at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He had been in critical condition for nearly a week after police say he was severely beaten by two Marines outside Duck's Grille & Bar on Gum Branch Road around 2:30 a.m. January 7. Officers who responded found the 34-year-old from Pollocksville unconscious. Investigators say his wife Billie Senn, 41, was also hit during the fight.

Brandon Cotter, 22, (above, left) is charged with assault inflicting serious injury and assault on a female. Erik Ketterman, 22, is charged with accessory after the fact. Both are members of 1/9 A Company at Camp Lejeune.

No word yet on whether the men will face additional charges.
