You might think these folks make a lot of money, and maybe they make some but the vast majority by and large aren't making any money off these shows. I have a friend who's daughter appeared on an MTV show, who did not receive any compensation. The point of the shows is to educate other teens and teen parents on the pitfalls of pre-marital and teenage sex. They aren't always compensated for providing the example of what not to do.
