Yes, I make $85,500 a year. It's public information and no secret. In fact, the information on the Star News website was provided by me. That's just part of what I do. What you don't know is what I do between those 12 television interviews. I coordinate internal and external communication for the Authority. I work with other members of staff to produce such things as our multi million dollar Capital Improvement Plan and our Strategic Plan. I coordinate with the development community to expand infrastructure where there is no money otherwise to pay for it. I coordinate with places like Carolina Beach and Figure Eight Island to provide water service to areas whose water quality is threatened with salt water intrusion. I work within the community on behalf of CFPUA and have accomplished such things as over 1,000 pounds of food donated to the food bank and in 2010 I created the CFPUA Assist Neighbors Helping Neighbors program that this station and many others have recently covered. I work with entities like Wilmington, New Hanover County, Pender County, Wilm Industrial Development, DOT, MPO, the Ports etc on such things as infrastructure and economic development of the 421 corridor. And yes, I do television interviews after many phone calls and coordination with the various regional media outlets at all hours of the night, day, and weekend.
