These people have some valid concerns and I don't dismiss them easily but I do have a couple of questions:
(1) how many of you live in houses with driveways that have cement driveways? Do you think the cement just appeared out of thin air? Someone had to make it and someone had to pour it. Would you be willing to pay alot more to have it brought in from somewhere else if you needed it? And what about the neighborhoods where your cement came from? Did you think of them?
(2) As I looked at the faces in the meeting, and this is a stupid thought I will concede so don't fuss at me, but how many of them in the audience are/were smokers and had no thought about their second hand smoke affecting us in restaurants, on planes or other places? Just asking!
