CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is planning to tour an energy plant in Charlotte and talk to business leaders as he touts the president's policies to strengthen the economy.
His visit comes one day after President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.
Geithner is stopping at Siemens Energy, which has invested more than $350 million in Charlotte in the last four years -- an investment that will create more than 1,000 jobs. The company's Charlotte plant recently underwent a $130 million expansion to strengthen its export capabilities.
After that, Geithner is meeting with local business leaders at the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce to discuss the economy and the president's efforts to create jobs.
The Democratic National Convention is being held in Charlotte in September.
