My mother was on a feeding tube the last 3 years of her life, but we were grateful for every extra second it gave us with her. She was on her "last leg" too, but she chose to fight to stay with us and enjoy the extra time together. I wouldn't take anything for those extra years; they were some of our best times together.
"A risky exercise in futility that usually gains little time." Indeed. Comments like yours make me want to puke, expecially the part about the "emotional lawsuit". After I read posts like yours, I sometimes wonder who's the human, and who's the animal.
