WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Ilario Pantano's campaign released the results of a new poll today that show the Republican candidate for the 7th Congressional District leads State Senator David Rouzer 48.3% to 21.1% among GOP Primary voters. More than 30% though are still undecided.

The poll, conducted by Conquest Communications Group, has a margin of error of +/- 5.35%

Results also show that Pantano has a favorable rate of more than 47% compared to Rouzer at 16%.

More than 70% of the 350 people polled said they had no opinion of Rouzer or had never heard of him.

Almost 40% said they had no opinion about Pantano or had never heard of him.

Raleigh, NC - Senator David Rouzer, Republican candidate for Congress, released the following statement today:

“With more than $221,000 cash on hand, far exceeding that of my opponent, we are well positioned to make up significant ground and win this race. It is no surprise that my opponent would release a poll on the day that fundraising reports are due to distract from his campaign’s cash on hand.

"The poll numbers my opponent released are virtually the same as his September poll. We have not run any ads nor sent any voter mail. The real race will begin in March after filing is completed.”
