Hurricanes 2, Kings 1

RALEIGH -- (AP) Scott Walker and Ray Whitney provided Carolina's goals in a 2-to-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings.

Walker snapped a one-all tie with his 17th goal of the season, just over three minutes after Alexander Frolov tied the game midway through the second period.

Cam Ward handled 21 shots as the Hurricanes won for only the third time in eight games. David Tanabe set up both Hurricanes goals.

Frolov's 30th goal of the season couldn't stop the Kings from losing for the 13th time in their last 16 games.
