Perhaps SurfCity Tom needs to study the ferry system a LITTLE more. There are several ferry runs that are used for persons traveling to their jobs on a daily basis. I do agree that there is nepotism in a lot of state government but those who depend on the ferry system for work transportation particularly in Pamlico County which has a high poverty rate and low incomes needs their ferry runs to get to work without costing them more dollars.
Guess the Governor is making a grandstand play before she leaves office on putting the increases on hold. There is probably a great need to make up the funding differences, but there is still the issue of a tourist ferry that was not going to charge for trips. THIS is one of the runs that needs to charge the tourists to ride the boat.
