How a company can claim to be environmentally responsible yet fight against the new EPA standard for mercury, indicates hypocrisy. Why would they turn down millions of dollars from the county in order to avoid an environmental impact study? Are they concerned that the results of the EIS would indicate unacceptable environmental impacts of a cement plant located on an already environmentally-impacted site? What this cement company says and does are two different things. They have lost my trust. Whatever they say about promised jobs, the impacts of truck loads of product going to the port, whether their cement will primarily be for export, etc., probably can not be trusted.
Others have made a good point about how this poll was designed. The question should be something like: "Are you in favor of the Titan proposal or are you not?" We need the jobs but I do not believe Titan's interests have anything to do with providing jobs.
Can't trust Titan
