Out of the numerous times I have been to an emergency department, whether with grandparents, parents, myself or my children NEVER has anyone done a background check on me while I was there with them. People really should come up with a defense that is actually believable. He doesn't really care about other peoples children or he wouldn't have a criminal record of selling dope to those peoples children! Eventually the people will know the cause of death, and I pray this man did not intentionally hurt this baby, but until you know the truth you can't defend him either.
