If he was defending himself as the result of an assualt, then he is allowed to, regardless if it involves a kid or not. Regardless if he is the adult or not. You can not go into a fight and not expect to get hit back. Everyone has the right to self defense.

Maybe the parents of those so called behavioral challenged childrens should of taught them, don't start none there won't be none.
