I think all of you are missing the true purpose of the ban ~ to keep the beach beautiful for ALL to enjoy. If smokers picked up after themselves, this wouldn't be a problem. This is a beach, not a giant ashtray for cigarette butts. To me it is just plain common sense, too bad others don't see it that way.
