Instead of a smoking ban...

It seems the problem is not that people are smoking on the beach, it's that they're littering. WB should draft and enact a strong littering ordinance with steep penalties. $500 for the first offense should be a good deterrent. Add dog poop to the list, and vigorously enforce the ordinance. It's a win for everyone - less cigarette and dog poop litter, more revenue and more jobs (littering enforcers). Happy now?

I'm not a smoker, and I think there should be stiff penalties for dropping cigarette butts on the ground - but I'm also tired of the WB residents thinking that they're all powerful as well.
