No different than when the Easley campaign committee was ordered to repay several hundred thousand dollars for his last electoral run. Campaign Committee was broke; no payment made. No requirement the candidate pay the piper.
Unfortunate campaign finance law will never be rewritten to make the candidate ultimately responsible for the payments.
