Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, Wrightsville Avenue to close for repairs

WILMINGTON -- If you're planning on taking the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge next week plan for detours. The bridge will close overnight from ten p.m. to six a.m. Monday through Friday. Workers will be changing the old electrical control system. Use the Isabel Holmes Bridge as a detour. The total cost of the project, that's expected to be completed by late October, is about $5.3 million. Wrightsville Avenue will be closed Monday beginning at 7 a.m. The closure in the 4000 block near the Salt Works could last as long as three days. City crews will be unclogging and repairing a storm drain.
