Everyone I've ever known who received a ticket, or even serious DUI charges, was contacted by law offices within days. None of them ever had the original charges stick. I knew guys in high school who were pulled driving in excess of 100 mph didn't lose their licenses for any substantial time. I've been told that lawyers who handle traffic cases have enormous influence in the General Assembly so this won't likely change anytime soon. Ever notice that no one really seems to sweat the risk of getting caught drunk driving? Why would they?
