WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) -- In Wednesday night's sports segment we featured an extra innings thriller between NC State and East Carolina in Raleigh in college baseball. We also went to Boseman Field for UNCW and East Carolina softball action. In addition, we traveled to Hampstead to check in on Topsail softball and baseball. On top of that, we got a peek at the nationally ranked UNCW women's tennis team against Coastal Carolina in the Bird Cage.

TOPSAIL SENIOR BASKETBALL GUARD PAYTON BALL WILL SIGN WITH THE MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY ON THURSDAY.

THE WILMINGTON SEADAWGS WILL OPEN THEIR 2012 BASKETBALL SEASON ON SUNDAY AT 6PM IN THE SCHWARTZ CENTER.
THE SEADAWGS WILL BE HOSTING THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS ON COLLEGE NIGHT AT THE DAWG POUND.

CARMELO ANTHONY AND IMAN SHUMPERT EACH HAD 25 POINTS FOR THE KNICKS IN THE WIN.

THE UNCW MEN'S TENNIS TEAM DEFEATED CAMPBELL 4-3 IN BUIES CREEK ON WEDNESDAY.
THE SEAHAWK NETTERS ARE NOW 12-4 ON THE SEASON AND RANKED 35TH IN THE NATION.

THE UNCW WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAM BEAT COASTAL CAROLINA 5-2 ON WEDNESDAY.

THE UNCW SOFTBALL TEAM WAS SWEPT BY ECU IN A DOUBLE HEADER AT HOME ON WEDNESDAY.
THE SEAHAWKS LOST THE FIRST GAME 10-2 AND DROPPED THE SECOND GAME 7-1.

THE UNCW BASEBALL TEAM WILL HOST OLD DOMINION ON FRIDAY AT 6:30PM.
