Tuesday: "From that day forward, the Monkey Junction annexation area took effect, so according to the General Statutes, and we have a lot of experience in this, we have to provide the core services beginning the next day."
Thursday: "I think it probably would just be a better idea to let the courts play it out and see where it shakes out...."
So in other words, they understand that this process is working its way through the appellate process when it's convenient for them, but will ignore it when they want to sneak in like the rats they are and establish the argument that "This annexation already took place, so the rules don't apply."
It's like dealing with the mafia....
