ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) -- A former teacher in Asheville faces up to 70 years in prison and $750,000 in fines after pleading guilty in federal court to producing child pornography.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that 41-year-old former Owen Middle School teacher Kevin Mark Calloway pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of production of child porn and one count of possession of child porn as part of a plea agreement.
Calloway will remain in custody until he's sentenced. A sentencing date hasn't been set.
An investigator testified last month that Calloway said he exchanged sexually explicit texts and videos with students and former students for years. Court documents say he admitted to recording videos of students' genitals as they urinated in the school bathroom.
