Thank you for saying that. My father committed suicide and I would have been LIVID if the details had been broadcast by the media. The only thing made public was the obituary which simply stated he passed away at home.
I agree with your sentiments completely. Media coverage of a suicide is tacky and unnecessary. Especially in small communities where rumors and innuendo spread like wildfire. This story is not "setting the record straight". Rumors and speculation will still circulate and facts will be skewed, until another story breaks and people move on to the next topic.
