If you would actually read the amendment, you will see that it does not interfere with contracts entered into between private parties. This amendment would in no way affect custody issues. According to NC law part of the definition of domestic abuse includes, but is not limited to, abuse of someone living in the same house. Therefore, the amendment should not change the way that domestic abuse issues are handled.
