The guy wrote a paper several years ago that people may not agree with. Who cares? Academia is filled with opinions, conservatives included. If the guy is qualified, and has a forward vision for the university, I could care less if he offends some crack-pots in the Wilmington community. Before we start spouting off about liberals threatening free thought within the education system, let's remember that a conservative professor at UNCW has repeatedly published (online) the names of "liberal professors" and caused them to get death threats. Conservatives offended by this? Get over it.
