Thankfully these people were able-bodied enough to swim. We were once caught by a surprise squall entering the channel from the ocean by Masonboro. The wind was so strong we had to have a man weight down the bow. We prayed for the man in a Boston Whaler we saw holding his son tight with the bow of that boat in the air due to the strong wind.
