I see what you're saying but...

I realize that it would be hard for someone who lost a child or loved one due to an overdose, but it's hard for me not to blame that person. I've had dealings with these substances in the past and I can tell you it's not as much the person you buy it from as much as it is yourself. The guy you get it from is of no concern to you doing it..once you've made the choice to do it..you'll do it. It doesn't matter who you get if from as long as you get it. I'm sorry for the choices your son made, I've known many that made those choices. The dealers didn't call him, he called them and begged for it. Once you make the choice to let that evil substance into your life, you reap the consequences. I wish that they could stop people from selling it though, that would hinder people from ever trying it to begin with. There is a real problem however on a much larger scale than the local level with these drugs. It has been exposed that the CIA did run drugs during the Iran Contra affair to fund the contras. That was cocaine, however the troops today have secured the poppy fields in Afghanistan so production will continue. There are some higher up's in the government who allow and some who help the drug trade for their benefit. There are also many who fight it. History shows however, that there are elements in our own government that help other governments make sure their drugs are sold here in the US. So it's not so much the black guy on the street corner who manufactured the heroin, shipped it to the US and so on, but he is the lowest member in the organisation. To stop the drug trade you would have to stop it from leaving the other countries or stop it from ever being produced. Politics doesn't always allow that....Just something to think about...
