Oddly, these same type of issues have been faced before., Not always by such a small minority group, but none-the-less faced and defeated. According to the for-ammendment-1 sites the inability of the Democratic party to find unity on this subject is the cause for their decisive victory so far.
How sad to think that a "13%" democratic black vote is one of those contributing slants on the possibility of failure. I remember a time when in this very state the marriage of blacks and whites were illegal. Those unities were not recognized. How sad that so few see discrimination as discrimination unless it effects them only.
Sad that human rights are still only limited to those with the most money, the loudest voices and the self-benefiting. Sad that simply as human beings, Americans under our constitition, that picking and choosing who is valid as human beings is the majority choice.
