WILMINGTON -- The University of North Carolina at Wilmington was the site for a rather weighty summit on education Wednesday -- a summit that included the public. Leaders in education discussed concerns facing the state's universities. The UNC Tomorrow commission is a part of the UNC Board of Governors. The mission is to involve the public. UNC Tomorrow Chairman Jim Phillips says that's the best way to move forward. "The university has three missions set out by the statue, teaching, service and research. And UNC Tomorrow is about researching out into the community across North Carolina and seeing how we can do all of those better," Phillips said. This forum is one of 11 taking place around the state.
