WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- New Hanover County Commissioners met with state legislators this morning to discuss changes they want to make to the county.
The informal meeting is not a time to make official decisions, but it is a chance to talk about funding and other areas in which the county needs state support.
In addition to asking for state dollars, commissioners also opened their ears to state concerns.
"Also to listen to them about any concerns they might have or any issues that we can help them with on a local level," Commission Chair Ted Davis said.
Commissioners discussed a variety of topics. Overall they'd like to amend four current legislative items and add state funding to a drug treatment program.
The General Assembly's short session starts Wednesday in Raleigh.
