A children's etiquette class at Plantation Grove focuses on a new area of etiquette every week. This week, The Manners Cafe helps teach kids how to eat along side the grown ups with proper table manners. Everything from putting a napkin in your lap, to how to set the table is taught by former school counselor Laurie Wieres. She says this type of class is especially important in a day and age when sit down dinners are rushed, and less time is centered around being polite. She says, "I just think its a basic thing that all children need to have. I think we do them a diservice if we don't teach them respect and manners." Mom of 5-year old twins Marisol Higgins says it's nice to have a little extra help. "I think sometimes its easier for them to learn things from someone else than if you try to do it at home," she says. The classes take place once a week at poplar grove plantation. This week, the kids will learn about telephone etiquette. For more information on how to enroll your child, call (910) 686-9518.
