UPDATED: Sheriff's son pleads guilty to DWI

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram's son pleaded guilty earlier this month to drunken driving following an April arrest in Brunswick County.

John W. Ingram VI, 21, pleaded guilty May 3 to DWI level 5 and received a 60-day suspended jail sentenced, 12 months of unsupervised probation and 24 hours of community service, according to the Brunswick County District Attorney's Office.

He also has to pay $660 in fines including $290 in court costs, a $100 fine, and a $250 community service fee.
