Currently, the City of Wilmington owes over $200 millions in debt. Nearly half of the money taken in by the City goes to nothing but debt service.
Building a baseball stadium under these circumstances would be the equivalent of someone whose home is going into foreclosure installing an in-ground swimming pool.
