Body of Lincoln County man found in river

HIGH SHOALS, N.C. (AP) - The body of a missing Lincoln County man has been found in the South Fork River near High Shoals.

Lincoln County Sheriff David Carpenter said the body found Thursday afternoon has been identified as 37-year-old Keith Roland Boyte of Lincolnton.

Searchers from Gaston and Lincoln counties searched near the bridge where Boyte's truck and trailer were found parked beside the highway.

Carpenter says the body has been sent to Charlotte for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Deputies took a missing persons report Wednesday night from a friend who said he hadn't heard from Boyte for two days.
