How is a toll both ways fair? City people pay county taxes AND city taxes so we already pay our fair share for county stuff. Gas prices go up, city employees are eventually going to get a raise, it's more expensive to do anything. How do you think the city will pay for those increases? Fire some police officers or firemen? They can't increase revenue without expanding the tax base because New Hanover County keeps the almost all the sales tax and doesn't give hardly any back to the city.
