STORMTRACK 3: Severe T-Storm Watch cancelled, scattered storms still possible overnight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Severe weather will be possible across the entire state through the late afternoon and evening, including Southeastern North Carolina. We're forecasting strong to severe thunderstorms that will have the chance to produce damaging winds, large hail, and even an isolated tornado will be possible.

Should any severe weather form, we will pass along the warnings to you on-air, online, and on Facebook and Twitter.

A powerful cold front is marching across the East Coast. This is what will spark the storms, which have plenty of fuel to work with, given the heat and humidity in the air today. Farther north, toward the Virginia border and into the DC Metro area, a large tornado outbreak is possible. Our threat is not as high as that.
